We’re still waiting for more specs, which will no doubt leak out of the coming days. Gone are the days of separate ‘waterprof cases’ like the Osmo Pocket and older versions of GoPro. Like the GoPro HERO7, Osmo Action‘s body is a self-contained and waterproof unit. This could allow for additional accessories like filters, fish-eye adapters, and more.
Osmo Action looks like it has an adjustable/removable bezel around the lens housing. The GoPro HERO7 uses only a rear-facing screen, making selfie compositions a little bit more difficult. Osmo Action, below, has both a front facing LCD screen for perfectly composing shots in a “selfie” mode and for playblack in addition to a large rear facing display. What is most interesting is how the DJI Osmo Action and it’s top rival, the GoPro HERO7 differ. Whereas in other areas, such as its wireless connectivity and smartphone app, it’s not as competitive as GoPro. In some areas, such as the ability to shoot at 4K/60 without a fisheye look (or with, if you really want), it’s better. But the term ‘almost’ is the important part. It would have been really handy if the leaker had taken a photo of the back of the box so we could see the specs, but that will likely come in in the next day or two. The DJI OSMO Action is almost identical to the GoPro Hero 7 Black. Last night we found a few more images of the alleged new GoPro challenger from the Chinese drone maker.įIrst image (below) shows the packaging for the new Osmo Action which also confirms it’s name. Since we first reported that DJI is launching the new Osmo Action sport camera, the internet has been busy hunting for every scrap of information possible.
